Greetings! My name is Mike, and I am thrilled to welcome you to our community. Thank you for joining me on this exciting journey exploring, learning, and understanding the planning and design of Walt Disney’s Vacation Kingdom of the World. I created WDW Connection to share the fascinating history and captivating stories behind Walt Disney World, a place that has welcomed millions of visitors from around the globe. After decades of visiting this spectacular place, I have developed a deep passion for the meticulous design, planning, and construction that went into creating Walt Disney World. I genuinely hope to inspire others to appreciate and learn about the immersive experience and storytelling that defines this Vacation Kingdom.
The transformation of swampland into a vacation kingdom is truly remarkable. It required innovative engineering and the creative vision of talented Imagineers to bring this idea to life. Roy Disney, Walt Disney’s brother and business partner, played a crucial role in approving and leading the Florida Project, which resulted in the creation of what has become the greatest vacation destination on Earth. From classic attractions to the beautifully landscaped grounds, every aspect of Walt Disney World has an incredible story.
